Fundraising at Charlton School
You will be aware of the fantastic work done by students in school to raise money for a number of charities, local, nationally and internationally.  Activities to support organisations such as the KIP project in Wellington (, through to families we have supported in Peru, have always been an important part of the work undertaken in school.  So far this term we have raised over £2072, with events taking place to support the Macmillan Coffee Morning, Jeans for Genes Day, Mufti and Cake sale, alongside the fund-raising drive for Zac, who you will be aware, is aiming to raise £500,000 to get to the Philadelphia Children's Hospital, for a clinical trial treatment called CAR-T, in response to his rare form of cancer called Near Haploid.
As a result of the hard work undertaken by our student House Leaders, they have made the decision to continue the great work which goes on across the school and in addition, raise funds for 5 key charities, one linked to each House - these are shown below:

Sycamore: Starlight ( Starlight provides wishes of a lifetime and entertainment for seriously ill children

Willow: Zak’s Charity (

Birch: Marie Curie ( Providing care and support for people with a terminal illness

Elm: Pink Ribbon Foundation ( Supports the needs of people affected by breast cancer

Hawthorn: Tabiicats ( Rescuing, rehabilitation and rehoming cats and kittens

Throughout the year we will be forwarding information to you regarding activities which are taking place in school and sharing with you the many successes of the work completed by each House.  Any support you are able to give will always be gratefully received.  Please look out for updates across the year.
Thanks as always for your support!
Yours faithfully
Mr L Tristham
Senior Deputy Headteacher
