Safeguarding Letter to parents 29.06.2020

At Charlton School we work hard to ensure all our children are safe. On many occasions this has involved working in partnership with the Local Authority and outside agencies.

Dear Parents/Carers,

At Charlton School we work hard to ensure all our children are safe. On many occasions this has involved working in partnership with the Local Authority and outside agencies. During this challenging time, we are acutely aware of the additional pressures that families are under and the potential risks and challenges they face. As Government guidelines are now beginning to lift some of the restrictions of the lockdown, we felt it was an appropriate time to signpost families to sources of support, if they are needed. These are in addition to the many resources we have made available on our website during this period.

The NSPCC Helpline is always available on 0808 800 5000, if you have concerns for your own, or another child’s safety. If you feel that a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 999. You can report concerns to the police on their non-emergency number, 101 and Telford and Wrekin Council can offer help via their Family Connect service on 01952 385385.

The Department for Education has also brought together a range of guidance concerning the risks that many children may be vulnerable to, during the Coronavirus Pandemic. Many and varied sources of support and information can be found in the document if you follow the link below.

It has been heartening to witness the successful return of Year 10 over the last couple of weeks and I look forward to a time when we can all be together in the near future. Until then, it is important that we continue to strive to keep ourselves and our community safe.

Yours faithfully
