End of Term Celebrations – Important Information

As we approach the end of the autumn term, I write to share details of the celebrations and events planned for next week. It has been a wonderful term, and these events are a fitting way to finish the year together and celebrate student success.

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we approach the end of the autumn term, I write to share details of the celebrations and events planned for next week. It has been a wonderful term, and these events are a fitting way to finish the year together and celebrate student success.

On Thursday 18th December, we will hold our annual Christmas Concert at from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Main Hall. This event will showcase a variety of performances from our talented students, including music, drama, and dance. Families are warmly invited to join us for what promises to be a great evening. Doors will open at 6:15pm, and refreshments will be available during the interval. Tickets are available now from student services for £3.

Throughout the week there will also be a celebration assembly for each year group in which students will be recognised for housepoint’s achieved, good attendance, excellent academic progress and demonstrating the school values of respect, responsibility, and resilience. Please look out for students returning from school with certificates and badges which are to be worn on the collar of their blazer in recognition of their achievement. Selected Y7-Y10 students will also be invited to attend movie afternoons and for Y11 selected students will be invited to attend a trip to the Birmingham Christmas markets.

On Friday 19th December, we will celebrate with a Christmas-themed non-uniform day. Students are encouraged to wear their own clothes with a festive theme, and proceeds will be donated to Save the Children. While this day is traditionally a Christmas jumper day, jumpers are not compulsory, and any Christmas themed outfit is welcome. Students wishing to wear their own clothes will be asked to pay £1 which will be collected by their form tutor from Monday the 15th. A reminder that clothes worn should be appropriate for a school environment, students should not wear revealing clothing, for example cropped tops or hotpants or any clothing with logo’s which promote inappropriate messages or language. Parents will be contacted to bring a change of clothes into school should this be the case.

Thank you for your continued support throughout this term. We look forward to celebrating with our students and wish you all a restful Christmas break and Happy New Year.

Kind regards
A Vickers
