LEAVERS’ PROM

I am pleased to announce that the Year 11 Leavers’ Prom will take place at The Mercure Hotel, Telford on Friday 23rd June 2023.

This hotel is a four star property and can offer us a beautiful banqueting suite with a private bar in an adjoining room.  Guests can enjoy a spacious dance floor and exclusive privacy from the rest of the hotel.  The hotel have agreed to turn off the Parking Eye cameras so friends and family don’t have to worry about having to pay to park and can take part in seeing all the students arrive. The total cost of the ticket is £25; this for a two course sit-down meal with jugs of soft refreshments on tables which will then be followed by a coffee station made available for students to help themselves to. A live Disco will then follow for students to dance the evening away to.

The anticipated itinerary for the evening is as follows:

• 6.00pm Arrival - ‘Meet and Greet’ in the hotel lobby.
• 7.00pm The meal will be served.
• 8.30pm Crowning of Prom Royalty.
• 8.45pm Disco will commence.
• 11.00pm Depart for home. Arrangements will need to be made to collect your child promptly at this time.

I have attached the menu and would be grateful if this could be returned, clearly indicating your child’s choice of food. Soft drinks and a non-alcoholic cocktail bar will be laid on during the evening. No alcohol will be permitted and any attempt to bring ‘supplies’ will result in the person’s immediate removal from the premises.

Dress will be formal but does not need to be expensive. Students should wear smart trousers, shirt and jacket or a dress which can be as simple or elaborate as they wish. Evening style trousers and tops are also acceptable.

This will be a most memorable evening for both students and staff and a fitting way to mark the end of the students’ GCSE examinations and their time at the Charlton School.

The school works hard to ensure that the evening is a wonderful celebration of the end of Year 11. To support this, we reserve the right to withdraw tickets both prior to and on the evening should any concerns arise.

If your child would like to attend, please return the attached sheet, together with full payment of £25 by Friday 17^th February 2023.  You can pay by cash/cheque or by using our online ParentPay system.  All payments need to be returned to Mrs Hughes in the Finance office, along with your menu choices.
