End of Autumn Term 1 Thank you
As we reach the end of our first half term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the warm welcome and continued support you have shown since I joined Charlton School as Principal. It has been a pleasure to begin getting to know our school community, and I am incredibly proud of the positive start we have made together.
Dear Parents and Carers,
End of Autumn Term 1 Thank you
As we reach the end of our first half term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the warm welcome and continued support you have shown since I joined Charlton School as Principal. It has been a pleasure to begin getting to know our school community, and I am incredibly proud of the positive start we have made together.
Our new Year 7 students have settled in exceptionally well. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and eagerness to get involved have been a joy to witness. Many have already taken advantage of the wide range of extra-curricular clubs on offer, and it has been fantastic to see such high levels of participation across all year groups.
Year 11 have also made a strong start to their final year. Their maturity and commitment to their studies have been evident, particularly through their engagement with intervention sessions and their positive attitude towards the year ahead.
A highlight of the term for me was being invited to judge Charlton’s Got Talent. The creativity, confidence, and talent on display were truly inspiring, and it was a wonderful celebration of the diverse strengths of our students.
As we continue to evaluate our systems and processes, your feedback remains invaluable. If you have not yet completed the parent survey, I would kindly encourage you to do so.

Looking ahead, following student voice feedback, we are intending to relaunch and rebrand our House System to promote healthy competition and strengthen our sense of community. We also plan to further develop student leadership opportunities at all levels, ensuring our young people have a strong voice and play an active role in shaping their school experience.
Thank you once again for your support this term. I wish you and your families a restful and enjoyable half-term break.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs S Barton Principal
