Bebras Computing Challenge

We are delighted to announce that the following students were placed within the top 10% of UK participants in their age groups!

During computing lessons this year all KS3 students and some KS4 students have participated in an international challenge named Bebras.  The Bebras Computing Challenge introduces computational thinking to students. It is organised in over 50 countries and designed to get students all over the world excited about computing.  241,348 students took part this year across the UK, with over 600 from Charlton School.  We are delighted to announce that the following students were placed within the top 10% of UK participants in their age groups receiving Gold awards:

  • Luke Davies (Year 7)
  • Mohammed Aarez (Year 7)
  • Olivia Mikolajczyk (Year 7)
  • Bayley Hodgetts (Year 7)
  • Joseph Edwards (Year 7)
  • Ryan Clapperton (Year 8 and 9)

These logically minded students have also been invited to participate in the “2021 Oxford University Computing Challenge” and with some preparation we are sure will make Charlton School even prouder.  Due to Covid limitations this year, these students will unfortunately not be invited to participate in person at Oxford University for the second round.

Throughout the next two weeks we will be handing out additional certificates to all those who participated including Best in School, Distinction (top 25% in school), Merit (next 25% in school), and Participation.
