School hallways fall silent on Remembrance Day

At 11am today the hallways at Charlton school fell silent to commemorate remembrance day 2020.

At 11am today the hallways at Charlton school fell silent to commemorate remembrance day 2020. The school normally mark the day with an assembly for all students, including Dance, Drama and Musical tributes. Mr Foskett a member of staff at the school plays the last post on his bugle to signal the pause of remembrance, but this year the school had to think creatively to mark the event.

The traditional full school assembly couldn’t go ahead because of restrictions surrounding COVID 19. The staff and students at the school have therefore created a variety of displays, including lettering from the windows of the top floor of ‘lest we forget’ sharing a message of remembrance with the local community. One tradition did continue; Mr Foskett played on, this time from the reception area, the sound of the last post echoed through the school and on the buglers cue classrooms and corridors fell silent.
