End of Half Term Letter from the Principal

As another busy half term passes, I want to celebrate the superhuman efforts of the staff and students who put on our school show over the last three days.

17th February 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

As another busy half term passes, I want to celebrate the superhuman efforts of the staff and students who put on our school show over the last three days.

We have had over 200 cast and support participants from students and staff, who have performed in front over 1000 people in the four shows, receiving rave reviews each time – a phenomenal achievement! As a school, we are blessed to have staff who are so committed to putting on these events and also fortunate to have so many talented students. Our expressive arts continue to go from strength to strength.  Everyone involved deserves a well-earned rest next week!

We have also had a really busy sporting half term and our teams continue to be successful in a wide range of sports. We have had over 50% of our students taking part in the extra-curricular offer from our PE department, which is fantastic, and I would urge any students who are yet to take part to get involved in at least one activity before the end of the year.

Holiday times are sadly where we sometimes say goodbye to colleagues who are moving to pastures new and today we lose Mrs Bibbings back to her previous life of IT and computing. We are very sad to be losing Mrs Bibbings who has added so much more to our school than just her teaching. She set up our teachers’ running group and has actively contributed to our teacher workload group, sharing ideas that have had a positive impact for colleagues in the school. We wish Mrs Bibbings the very best for the future, she will be greatly missed.

Whilst it is important to take time to recharge the batteries over the holiday, Year 11 students please remember there is a busy programme of activities over the holiday for invited students. To those not in school, just a polite reminder your exams start in 11 weeks time, and in those weeks you only have 39 days in school!

Yours faithfully,

Mr A McNaughton
