Community Links - Supporting families over the festive period

At Charlton we have well established links with our local community and view partnerships with the Learning Community Trust, wider community partners and our families as central to our success.

Dear Parents and Carers

At Charlton we have well established links with our local community and view partnerships with the Learning Community Trust, wider community partners and our families as central to our success. We are delighted to be working with the Learning Community Trust (LCT) on some key community projects to support our families over the festive period. Please take a look at the attached flyer which has details of the LCT Christmas Café.

The Christmas Community Café event is open to everyone, and there are no prices, it is simply pay if you can. Families can access food parcels and a Christmas lunch. We are really keen for families to know about this and to come along, we can even offer support with transport, on request. All children who attend the Christmas lunch will also get a small gift from Santa.

If you would like any further information, or to request transport, please contact: nikki.morrison@lct.education

The activities are free, voluntary donations will be accepted, with all money raised going back to the food projects to fund further events and support.

We recognise that due to the challenges of COVID more than ever families are in need of support and want to do all that we can as a school to support our local community. We also support the LCT Food Hub and Community Fridge. Both of the food sites have been very busy over the last few weeks, and we expect this to continue right through into the new year, as January is often a difficult month, following the expense of Christmas.

If you are in a position to support our community initiatives, please see the attached flyer with a list of items we are in need of. We would like to sincerely thank all of you who have provided us with donations. Now more than ever we would appreciate your support. Any donations should be left in the small meeting room in the reception area and any donations will be used to stock the Food Hub and the Community Fridge.

Many thanks for your support.
