Charlton School

Message from the Princiapal 20.03.2020

As you are aware school is now closed until further notice, unless you have notified us of the need for your child to attend, either because they are classed as vulnerable, or you are a key worker involved in the frontline response to the Covid-19 virus. Further information will be sent to these families in due course.

Dear Parent/Carer,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during these unprecedented and challenging times.

As you are aware school is now closed until further notice, unless you have notified us of the need for your child to attend, either because they are classed as vulnerable, or you are a key worker involved in the frontline response to the Covid-19 virus. Further information will be sent to these families in due course.

This means that your child must not attend school site for any reason at this time and should work from home using the resources shared with you previously through Doddle and our school website.

We would recommend that students continue to follow their daily timetable; in that they complete the work of the subject they would have at that time in the home, allowing themselves breaks and periods of physical activity.

We will provide regular updates from school via email, website and through our usual social media channels. Should you require to contact school we will endeavour to keep reception open from 8.30am until 3.30pm, for you to make telephone contact, you should not visit the site.

If you have queries about subject specific issues, for example online work, please contact the curriculum leaders. For general issues related to your child, for example welfare issues, please contact the relevant Head of Year or Pastoral Manager. Contact details can be found at the following page on our website: http://charlton.uk.com/contact-us/school-email-contacts

We will regularly update the online work and lessons and will contact you again after Easter with some additional challenges your children may want to take up, for example wider reading challenges.

All of us here at Charlton wish you and your families the very best of luck and good health through these challenging times. Please continue to follow government advice and guidance, we will continue to support you as much as we can, together we will beat this!

Kind regards

Mr A McNaughton
