16.02.22 LCT Update to Parents and Carers

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you are well.

This is a very personal letter as I wanted to tell you that I have taken the decision to retire after many years in education in Telford and Shropshire. This has not been an easy decision as being CEO of LCT has been an incredible experience, one I have thoroughly enjoyed and relished all the challenges it has presented. It was not what I imagined I would do a few years ago, but I am very proud of the Multi Academy Trust we have built which is strong and highly regarded locally and regionally. Prior to that, being Principal of HLC was such a privilege as we established a fantastic new school for the Hadley community.

I have taken my decision with the full support of Mike Briscoe (Chair of LCT) and the Board of Trustees. I informed the Heads a few weeks ago, and have taken the time to tell my team and key people I work with outside LCT before informing staff and parents this week. After half-term, the Trustees will begin the process to appoint the next CEO of LCT. In time, the Trust Board will make an appointment and I will be able to tell you when I will retire and what the plans are. In the meantime, I will continue to lead LCT and do all I can to support a smooth transition, you will be kept fully informed as plans evolve.

There will be plenty of time to say proper goodbyes and thank you to the incredible team of staff I work with and to you the parents, many of you I have known for a long time during my career in this area.

I look forward to seeing you as we begin the process of welcoming parents back into schools as restrictions are lifted over the next few weeks.

Kind regards,

Dr. Gill Eatough

CEO LCT
