School Radio
A new, exciting development of the school is the expansion of the idea of a School Internet Radio. This idea has been put into motion by Philip Ray in Year 11. By presenting his ideas to the key members of staff throughout school, he has gained a significant amount of funding, which will all go towards a fully licensed internet radio, with a professional studio.
Students will gain many key skills through the production of news bulletins, notices, general presenting and adverts, some of these skills include :
- Software use
- General Computer Skills
- Time(ing) management and skills
- Studio Techniques and Special Effects
- Team Building
- Confidence Boost
The Internet radio broadcasting system will help messages from the school be passed on and is accessible via the Internet at home, making catch up easy and effective. School bands will be able to be promoted onto the Charlton School Internet Radio broadcasting service, giving the artists some support with their new music, and enables them to have more popularity with their music which brings more success as it addresses to a wider audience.
The Internet Radio will be able to send messages from pupils and students to everyone; about clubs, events and just general school news.
News, weather, sports and even showbiz news could go on the reports, including an opportunity for pupils to make their own radio imaging, which could go towards their GCSE qualifications at Charlton School.
There are selected people from each year group in the team to help students pass on the radio experience to the other years. This project will help a lot at Charlton School, providing the best in news, other information, sports and hobbies, entertainment and more.
