Expectations Reminder

Expectations Reminder

Dear Parent/Carer

Through an assembly last week, we re-iterated our expectations on creating a positive climate for learning, wearing of the correct uniform and the use of mobile phones.

For clarity and to reinforce the message at home, please remind your child that mobile phones should not be used in school, at any time.  They should be off and away and not on view, or in use in the building, including before or after school.

Any student seen with a mobile phone or with earphones, will have the phone and earphones confiscated.  The first time this occurs they will be able to collect the items themselves, the second time they will need to be collected by an adult.

The vast majority of our students wear the correct uniform (full uniform details can be found on our school website).  Students should not wear any item of clothing (for example, a hoodie or tracksuit top) under their blazers at any time, only blue Charlton V-neck jumpers are permitted.  Students will have these items of clothing confiscated and returned at the end of the school day.

Please ensure your child is in full school uniform every day, a small number are wearing trainers, old style skirts, or forgetting ties.  If for some reason they are unable to wear full correct uniform, please provide a letter explaining why; this should be shared with your child’s Pastoral Manager.  Students who persistently choose not to wear correct uniform will be withdrawn from mainstream lessons and educated through a support room until the matter is resolved.

Students are aware that coats should not be worn on floors two and three of the school building, apart from at the end of the school day.  Again, students who persist in wearing their coats on these floors will have them confiscated and returned at the end of the day.

Thank you for your efforts in being courteous to other site users, if you collect your child from school at the end of the day, please remember to park in the designated bays around the one-way system and do not park on double yellow lines, around the side or back of school, or in the disabled parking bays, unless permitted to do so.  Please display your blue badges, if you are entitled to do so.

Thank you for your continuing support.

Yours faithfully

Mr A McNaughton
